CGR Songwriting Program
Since 2022, Creative Girls Rock®, in partnership with Notes for Notes® and Sony Music Nashville, has provided transformative music education experiences to 45 girls ages 12–17, primarily serving girls from low- to moderate-income communities.
Through our structured 8-week songwriting camps, participants engage in hands-on learning in lyric writing, melody composition, storytelling, studio collaboration, and performance development. Students also take creative ownership of their work by designing their own album covers, bringing their artistic vision to life beyond the music.
As part of the experience, participants prepare to perform their original tracks for a live audience, developing stage presence, vocal technique, teamwork, and an understanding of industry performance standards. These live performances provide a powerful opportunity for girls to confidently showcase their voices and creative expression.

Why This Program Matters?
The Creative Girls Rock® Songwriting Program creates a safe, supportive space where girls can discover and use their voices through music. The majority of participants report increased confidence, self-expression, and communication skills as they learn to tell their stories in meaningful and creative ways. Through this experience, youth also gain valuable skills working in collaborative and creative production environments.
Participants are provided with unique, real-world opportunities that deepen their learning and exposure, including engaging with industry professionals at Sony Music Nashville, recording original music at Notes for Notes studios, and performing at Analog at the Hutton Hotel, an intimate, speakeasy-style venue that serves as the perfect setting for a professional showcase of their original work.
What’s Next?!
In Spring 2026, Creative Girls Rock® will expand this initiative into year-round programming, including an intergenerational songwriting experience, bridging youth and seniors through music, storytelling, and shared creative expression.
