The Creative Tank Scholarship
The Creative Tank Scholarship is a new scholarship under the Creative Girls Rock®️ Youth Development initiative in collaboration with Nashfeels owners, D’llisha Davis and Stephen Crutcher. This scholarship seeks to support young women who are aspiring to work in the creative fields of Art, Music and Fashion Design.
The Creative Tank Scholarship will provide an opportunity for high school senior students to showcase their creative talents and compete for the scholarship. The competition will include two submissions of original artwork in addition to the other requirements listed below.
Art: The expression or application of human creative skill and imagination, typically in a visual form such as painting, sculpture, photography, visual and/or abstract art, producing works to be appreciated primarily for beauty or emotional power.
Music: Vocal, instrumental, or mechanical sounds having rhythm, melody, or harmony, including songwriting, live performance and/or producing in any genre.
Fashion Design: A form of self-expression in a specific context, including clothing (apparel/hats), footwear, accessories, makeup, hairstyle, perfumes and nail designs.
Each applicant is required submit the application below and email the required documents requested to thecgrcreativetank@gmail.com to be eligible for the scholarship.
Requirements:
Must be a high-school senior in Middle Tennessee, class of 2024 with a GPA of 2.8 or higher.
Must provide documentation (i.e. HS transcript) from your school counselor to verify your classification.
*Must have completed at least 20 hours of community service within the past 2 years. A community service letter is required.
*Two letters of recommendations from teachers, counselors or mentors who can speak to your academic and creative abilities.
*A 1-page personal statement, powerpoint presentation or 1-minute video that explains your creative process, inspiration, artistic goals, and how the scholarship will help you achieve these goals.
*Portfolio of work that demonstrates your skills and abilities that may include drawings, paintings, sculptures, photographs, or other types of visual art, music, songwriting, and fashion design illustration.

Deadlines:
1st Round (Application): February 16, 2024 at 11:59pm
2nd Round (Semi-Finalists): March 16, 2024 at 11:59pm. This deadline is for applicants who have been selected as the semi-finalists.
The scholarship committee will select two (2) finalists for each to receive a $2,500.00 scholarship.

The two letters of recommendations, community service letter, personal statement, and your portfolio of work must be emailed as a PDF File to TheCGRcreativetank@gmail.com. The deadline to complete the application and to email your documents is February 16, 2024.
